Reflections on Camp OTF 2008

As the books were piled away and classrooms left behind, some 400 teachers headed off to camp! The three-day Camp OTF workshops held in July and August 2008 provided time for teachers to come together with colleagues to reflect on their teaching practice and share what works in their classrooms.

Two elementary and one secondary environmentally-themed Going Green workshops were held in Toronto and at the Bark Lake Leadership Centre in Haliburton.  Teachers, with a true passion for the environment, came together to share strategies for integrating environmental education into their classrooms and their school communities.  Presented in partnership with the Ministry of Natural Resources, the programs provided teachers with opportunities to dialogue with experts from the field and obtain valuable resources to bring the themes of biodiversity, sustainability and stewardship in their classrooms.
